The 2017 festival is a battle cry and the opening night cabaret will set our army into motion with singers, spoken word artist and even a snippet from one of Philadelphia Young Playwright’s artists. Both original and cover work will be featured during this evening of music and theatre that will celebrate feminism, activism and diversity.
The Philadelphia Women’s Theatre Festival is proud to present our third annual women in comedy showcase. This showcase, hosted by Alyssa Al-Dookhi, features some of the best local comedians.

Hear Me War
Book, music & lyrics by Sarah Galante & Jaime Jarrett
Directed by Elaina Di Monaco
Produced through PWTF’s Women’s Playwriting Collective Program, Hear Me War explores the current dysfunctional political climate as it follows a group of feminists who fear for their lives during an unstable time. These feminists, vulnerable yet strong, come together and march on foot to Washington, D.C. to fight the arduous battle of dismantling the patriarchy. Hear Me War is a battle cry and stands up for all people on the never-ending push for equality.
